Next click on the DNS Configuration tab select Disable DNS (Figure 45) then click OK and OK again. You may get a message that you need to restart your machine before changes to Network Configuration will take effect. Do so now. If you don't get a message go ahead and reboot the machine at this point.
After your machine restarts you will need to go your browser and make one change. |

Internet
Explorer Instructions:
Right click the Internet Explorer Icon on your desktop. Choose Properties, and select the Connections tab. Then click on LAN Settings in the lower right hand corner of the window. In the next window, in the Proxy Server Section select (Check Mark) Use a Proxy Server for your LAN. After you have check marked that, move over to your right in the same window and click the Advanced tab. 1) For your Host Machine in the HTTP field type in 127.0.0.1 and in the port section at the end of the bar type in 83 if it isn't already there. Then click OK, then OK and then OK again. 2) For your Client Machines repeat the same step as above except you will need to enter 192.168.0.1 and Port number 85. You will need to do this for all the client machines. |
Netscape Instructions:
For Netscape you will need to open Netscape then click on the Edit tab at the top of the screen. Choose Preferences, then click on plus box by Advanced down near the bottom of the window. Click on Proxies; then over to the right select manual proxy configuration. Then click on the View tab. In the next window that comes up in the HTTP field type in the same numbers that where referred to in steps 1 and 2 above for the Host and Client Machines. Then click OK and then OK again. Now you are ready to check and see of you can access the Internet from your network machines. If you can access the Internet from your clients and your host machine you are good to go. Now you will need to do some tweaking to get your machines up to speed. |
